An uprising is brewing in Sarasota! Some 262 years ago rebel Scots known as the Jacobites rose up to expel the English from Scotland. That rebellion failed but the Jacobites are once again stagin an uprising! These local JAcobites are fun-filled rebellious pipers hailing from throughout Southwest Florida. Always innovative, this diverse group of musicians is enthusiastically committed to spreading the joys of pipe music in novel and electrifying ways.
The Jacobites Pipe & Drum Band will stage its "Uprising" concert at the Van Wezel March 31 at 3 p.m. This concert is a must for those who love bagpipes. The concert will feature the Jacobites pipes and drums joined by other Jacobite musicians, along with the Drake School of Irish Dance, and the Sarasota Scottish Fiddle Orchestra.
